Reliance Infra has bagged a big win in India’s green energy space, securing a Letter of Award (LoA) from NHPC, a Navratna public sector enterprise, for a 390 MW interstate transmission system (ISTS)-connected solar power project with Battery Energy Storage System (BESS).

Once operational, the project will add 700 MWp of solar DC capacity and 780 MWh of BESS to the Reliance Group’s portfolio, further strengthening its leadership in advanced renewable energy solutions.

Competitive Tariff Among India’s Lowest

The project was awarded at a winning tariff of ₹3.13 per unit (kWh), placing it among the most cost-efficient renewable offerings in India’s energy transition journey.

Strong Competition in Bidding

The project was part of a larger NHPC tender that drew 15 participants, with 14 qualifying for the e-reverse auction. The tender was oversubscribed nearly four times, highlighting the growing appetite for dispatchable renewable energy projects that combine solar with storage.

Reliance’s Expanding Green Energy Portfolio

Reliance Power, already listed under the Reliance Group, currently operates a renewable portfolio of about 2.5 GWp solar capacity and 2.5 GWh of BESS. With this fresh win, Reliance Group’s clean energy pipeline rises to over 3 GWp solar DC capacity and more than 3.5 GWh of BESS, making it the largest integrated Solar + BESS player in India.

Driving India’s Clean Energy Shift

This latest success signals Reliance Group’s accelerating commitment to renewable energy. By scaling up integrated solar and storage solutions, the company is positioning itself as a key player in shaping India’s sustainable energy future.
