Suzlon Group, India’s leading wind energy solutions provider, has announced its biggest order of FY26, a massive 838 MW project with Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited (TPREL), one of the country’s largest renewable energy companies.
This deal is Suzlon’s second-biggest order ever, coming after its record-breaking 1,544 MW order from NTPC Green Energy. The milestone highlights how Firm and Dispatchable Renewable Energy (FDRE) projects are becoming a game-changer in India’s clean energy transition.
Driving India’s Shift to 24×7 Clean Power
As India pushes towards reliable, round-the-clock renewable power, FDRE projects are emerging as a key solution. These wind-dominant systems are designed to provide grid-stable clean energy at scale, helping the country move closer to its ambitious clean energy targets.
The partnership combines Suzlon’s advanced wind technology with Tata Power’s vision for large-scale, grid-integrated clean energy. It also showcases the strength of homegrown “Made in India” innovation in delivering dependable green power.
Project Details
The 838 MW order will see Suzlon supply 266 of its latest S144 wind turbines, each with a capacity of 3.15 MW. The project will be spread across three states:
Karnataka – 302 MW
Maharashtra – 271 MW
Tamil Nadu – 265 MW
This project is part of the FDRE bids awarded to SJVN and NTPC, making it a major step forward in India’s clean energy mission.
Girish Tanti, Vice Chairman of Suzlon Group, said: “As Tata Power Renewable Energy takes bold steps to achieve 100% clean power by 2045, we are proud to back this journey with our advanced, Made-in-India wind technology. This third repeat order reflects our decade-long partnership and our shared vision of delivering cost-efficient, reliable, and grid-ready renewable solutions.”
JP Chalasani, CEO of Suzlon Group, added: “TPREL sets high benchmarks for technology, reliability, and execution. Their vision pushes the industry forward, ensuring wind plays a key role in India’s transition to round-the-clock clean energy. Suzlon’s continued partnership with TPREL proves the strength of our innovation and execution capabilities.”
