Ola Electric, India’s biggest EV maker, has hit another milestone. The company announced that its entire Gen 3 scooter lineup has cleared the Production Linked Incentive (PLI) certification process.
The certification, issued by the Automotive Research Association of India (ARAI) under the Ministry of Heavy Industries, covers all seven models in the Ola S1 Gen 3 range.
Gen 2 & Gen 3 Scooters Now PLI-Certified
With this development, both Ola’s Gen 2 and Gen 3 scooters are now officially PLI-certified. The Gen 3 portfolio includes:
- S1 Pro 3 kWh
- S1 Pro 4 kWh
- S1 Pro+ 4 kWh
- S1 X 2 kWh
- S1 X 3 kWh
- S1 X 4 kWh
- S1 X+ 4 kWh
These models currently account for the bulk of Ola Electric’s sales. With PLI benefits kicking in, the company expects a big boost in profitability starting Q2 FY26.
Key Step Towards Profitability
A spokesperson from Ola Electric said, “Securing PLI certification for our Gen 3 scooters, which form the bulk of our sales, is a critical step towards profitability. This strengthens our cost structure and margins, while ensuring customers continue to get best-in-class EVs at highly competitive prices.”
The PLI scheme makes Ola eligible for incentives of 13% to 18% of determined sales value (DSV) until 2028, a big win for the company’s bottom line.

Alongside this announcement, Ola also revealed a fresh lineup of EVs at its annual ‘Sankalp’ event. These include:

- S1 Pro+ 5.2 kWh – starting ₹1,69,999
